They offer a great mix events, from Show Jumping, Fell Races to Centre Ring Attractions as well as the traditional Livestock sections which are always of the highest standard!

This fascinating museum, managed by the Yorkshire Dales National Park Authority, tells the story of the people and landscape of the Yorkshire Dales past and present, and stimulates visitors to think about its future. Displays interpret the development of the Dales from prehistoric times to the present day. Themes include: school days, home life, leisure time, religion, transport, communication and tourism, farming, local crafts and industries. The Museum itself is housed in an exciting and imaginative conversion of the Hawes railway station in Wensleydale in the north of the National Park. It is designed to be fully accessible for wheelchair users and a wheelchair can be borrowed on site. The Museum has many interactive and hands-on exhibits and object handling sessions can be arranged for pre-booked groups.
The Forbidden Corner is often called a magical place but one of the best tricks it pulls off is to appeal to children and adults alike. Built in the four-acre gardens of Tupgill Park in the Dales, it's a warren of labyrinths, follies, passageways and secret doors. There are underground chambers, tunnels that shrink down to tiny doorways that adults have to crawl through and statues that are waiting to spring a surprise on the unwary. Entrance numbers are strictly limited so you have to book in advance but it's highly recommended to anyone with an ounce of imagination in them.
The series of waterfalls on the River Ure in Wensleydale are spectacular, particularly after the dale has been drenched in rain. Park at the visitor centre and walk through the woods to reach the Upper Fall. This is the biggest and most impressive and was used as a location for the movie Robin Hood Prince of Thieves in the 90s. But the Middle and Lower Falls, where the river drops down over giant slabs of rock, are also breathtaking – you'll appreciate why Aysgarth has been voted one of the natural wonders of northern England. You can dip your feet in the water and explore the woods that line the riverbanks. There's also a museum, gift shop and cafe in the mill buildings by the Upper Fall.
The Wensleydale Creamery Visitor Centre is an extraordinary place to visit, full of history, heritage, and heaps of Wensleydale cheese-fuelled fun!
Take a trip back in time to where Wensleydale cheese-making began as you explore our museum or see our talented master cheese-makers in action from the Viewing Gallery!
Or, why not pop into our Cheese & Gift Shop to sample the cheese before heading to the 1897 Coffee Shop for a refreshing drink & light bite? Alternatively, dine with us in Calvert’s restaurant where you can sit back, relax and take in the stunning views over the surrounding Yorkshire Dales whilst you enjoy homemade dishes.
The best time to view our cheese-making is between 10am – 2pm. We do not make cheese every day, so please contact us for further details.
The Wensleydale Railway is an authentic heritage railway serving the local community, offering tourists, families and transport enthusiasts a great value day out in the Yorkshire Dales, with lots to see and do along the way.
We have preserved 22 miles of the former line from Northallerton to Garsdale. Timetabled services currently run over the 16 miles from Leeming Bar to Redmire – one of the longest operational heritage lines in the UK.
Bolton Castle provides a huge range of exciting things to do in Wensleydale, Yorkshire. From family days out to educational trips and historic tours you will find a raft of sights, sounds and smells which bring the castle to life and make for a truly memorable trip.
It is one of the country’s best preserved medieval castles; originally built as one of the finest and most luxurious homes in the land, the castle bears the scars of over 600 years of fascinating history. The castle is still in the private ownership of Lord Bolton, the direct descendant of the castle’s original owner Sir Richard le Scrope.
Gayle Mill, Nr Hawes in Wensleydale,is a fully restored 19th century state of the art sawmill using water-powered turbines and is owned by the North of England Civic Trust (NECT) and operated by Gayle Mill Trust (GMT).

Come and explore Kilnsey Park, Wharfedale in the beautiful Yorkshire Dales! It’s great fun with lots to see and do!
Pick up the special trail leaflets for kids. The first is to find different objects hidden around the Park and the second is the Kilnsey Park detective trail with lots of questions that need answering from clues around the Park.
The Fly Fishery is based around two spring fed lakes and are both approximately 1 acre in size.
Open all year round, there is also a cafe serving a full range of hot food and drinks.
The Coldstones Cut is a piece of public art on a monumental scale.
Based at Coldstone Quaryy and created by the artist Andrew Sabin it is one of Nidderdales newest attractions.
Visitors can view both the spectacular quarry hole and limestone quarrying operation, and the landscape of the Nidderdale Area of Outstanding Beauty and beyond.
Parcevall Hall Gardens are a renowned historic plantsmans garden located at the heart of Wharfedale in the Yorkshire Dales National Park.
The gardens are a hidden treasure and comprise of 24 acres of formal and woodland gardens which rise up the hillside for 200 feet giving wonderful views in every direction.
Laid out by the late Sir William Milner from 1927 onwards, there are specimens from around the world including Western China and the Himalayas.
Skipton Castle, which is over 900 years old, is one of the best preserved medieval castles in England and is open Daily throughout the year except Christmas Day.
Visitors, who are given a comprehensive tour sheet (available in 9 languages), can explore every corner of this impressive castle which withstood a three-year siege during the Civil War.
Dogs are allowed within the Castle and grounds but must be kept on a lead.
Run by volunteers, you can travel between Embsay station, built in 1888, and the new award-winning station at Bolton Abbey in Wharfedale.
Your journey will take you through picturesque Yorkshire Dales scenery where you can picnic on the banks of the River Wharfe or enjoy one of the many walks through Strid Wood where you will find the Cavendish Pavillion for refreshments.

The independent Swaledale Museum is run by volunteers with the aims of collecting and displaying the local heritage of Swaledale and Arkengarthdale.

Keld Countryside and Heritage Centre is the 'shop window' for Keld Resource Centre and opened in May 2011. The Centre occupies the former horse stables and coach room in the Literary Institute Building which have been sensitively restored for this purpose.
The Centre tells the story of our village including hill farming, local people, vernacular architecture, wildlife conservation and the history of the chapel buildings. Positioned in the village centre and close to the ‘coast to coast’ trail the centre is proving to be a greatly valued addition to village life.
In 2022 they opened the Old School Living Heritage Centre which now houses much of the collection from the former Swaledale Museum in Reeth.
The Centre is free and open to the public between 09.00 and 17.00 daily.
